The Purdue Polytechnic Techies pushed their score all the way to 59 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 69-59 to Indianapolis Arsenal Technical. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Purdue Polytechnic of the 102-75 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2021.
Several Techies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Antwan Dorsett, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Eddie Williams, who scored ten points.
Indianapolis Arsenal Technical's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ananias Evans led the charge by scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Evans has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rashad Street, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Purdue Polytechnic's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-3. As for Indianapolis Arsenal Technical, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.
Purdue Polytechnic will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Indianapolis Shortridge at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th.
