Fairbanks is 1-9 against Mechanicsburg since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. Fairbanks got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Grace Zahn out in front who scored eight points along with six rebounds and five assists. Mara Vicari was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, Mechanicsburg waltzed into their match on Wednesday with 12 straight wins but they left with 13. They really took it to Triad for the full four quarters, racking up a 76-43 win on the road. Mechanicsburg has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 22 points or more this season.
Fairbanks' record now sits at 4-12. Mechanicsburg's record now sits at 14-1.
Fairbanks was taken down by Mechanicsburg 54-19 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Fairbanks was down 32-12.
