The Shelton Gaels's game on Tuesday was all tied up 34-34 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 66-56 to Westhill. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Nayeli Juarez was on fire for Westhill: she shot 4-for-4 from long range and dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds.
Shelton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Westhill, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shelton will challenge Lauralton Hall at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lauralton Hall focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Wednesday. Westhill will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Greenwich at 7:00 p.m. on December 22nd.
