Baseball Recap: Munster Wins Going Away Against Highland

While Munster put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Highland. The Mustangs blew past the Trojans 11-0. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.

Ed Kicho looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Mason Jarrett was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Zach Wright, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one double.

Munster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highland only posted an OBP of .391.

The victory made it two in a row for Munster and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Highland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Munster will square off against Lincoln-Way Central at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Highland, they will face off against Hammond Morton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
