The Newell Irrigators's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 53-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Edgemont. Newell was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Moguls apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Keaton Darrow was a one-man wrecking crew for Edgemont as he almost dropped a double-double on 32 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Darrow has scored all season. Sebastian Morse was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Newell's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-11. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.0 points per game. As for Edgemont, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newell will play host again and welcome the , where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Edgemont, they will be playing at home against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Oelrichs comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
