The team relied heavily on Coral Prosser, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Elsie Barna, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Berlin Brothersvalley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in five consecutive matches.
Shade came out on top against Turkeyfoot Valley Area on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run seventh inning. The Panthers walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Rams.
Payton Maddy made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two doubles, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Shade got a massive performance out of Lindsay Frazier, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave Frazier a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaedyn Krupper, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Berlin Brothersvalley's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Shade, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Berlin Brothersvalley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .481. However, it's not like Shade struggles in that department as they've averaged .473. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
