Last Saturday, Scammon Bay faced Chevak in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Scammon Bay narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Chevak 60-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Scammon Bay got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Stewie Sundown out in front who scored 24 points. Sundown is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Josiah Sundown, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Non Varsity Tournament Opponent suffered a rough 66-40 loss at the hands of Petersburg on Friday. Non Varsity Tournament Opponent has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Scammon Bay pushed their record up to 18-3 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Non Varsity Tournament Opponent, their defeat dropped their record down to 79-237.
Scammon Bay skirted past Non Varsity Tournament Opponent 56-53 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Scammon Bay repeat their success, or does Non Varsity Tournament Opponent have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
