Southington is a perfect 6-0 against Enfield since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Blue Knights will challenge the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Southington is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Tolland a 15-0 shutout on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

The team relied heavily on Aubrey Perugini, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Perugini is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Alexa Poutouves was another key player, earning one RBI, one run, and three stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Enfield put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over Windsor. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by six runs or more this season.
Payten Stebbins made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Stebbins was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That double was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Emily Lyver and Paige Valintakonis did most of the damage at the plate: Lyver went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Valintakonis went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those RBI were Lyver's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Claire Bouffard, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Enfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.
Enfield's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Southington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Southington has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Enfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging 12.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Southington was able to grind out a solid win over Enfield when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 4-1. Will the Blue Knights repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
