After losing to the Apple Springs Eagles the last time they met, the Oakwood Panthers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Oakwood took their contest on the road on Saturday with ease, bagging a 51-16 win over Apple Springs. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-11.
It was another big night for Jacee Youngblood, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Oakwood's points. Another player making a difference was Rai'Miaya Winston, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds.
The win got Oakwood back to even at 2-2. As for Apple Springs, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Oakwood's road trip will continue as they head out to face Scurry-Rosser at 11:00 a.m. on December 7th. Scurry-Rosser is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Apple Springs will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wells at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th.
