The East Ridge Knights suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Tuesday. They suffered a rough 48-22 defeat at the hands of Leesburg. East Ridge was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-11.
Tychelle Gordon and Neishaliz De Jesus certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Gordon scored five points along with six rebounds, while De Jesus scored a point.
Leesburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Saige McCloud, who scored 24 points. McCloud hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniya Hester, who scored 13 points.
East Ridge has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Leesburg, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Ridge will take on Ridge Community at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ridge Community is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Leesburg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lecanto at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
