The high school football season in Hawaii came to a close in December with three state championship games. Kahuku
was among the victors, beating St. Louis (Honolulu)
49-14 for the Open Division crown. That victory helped propel the Red Raiders to the No. 1 ranking in the final Hawaii MaxPreps Top 25.
No stranger to success, Kahuku regained its spot at the top of the Hawaii high school football mountain with a dominant season. The Red Raiders went 10-0 and outscored opponents 449-98. Kahuku emphatically dethroned St. Louis in the championship game, ending the program's run of four consecutive titles.
Since 2000, Kahuku has appeared in the Division I or Open Division title game 14 times, winning nine times.
