Littlerock is 0-10 against Quartz Hill since October of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Lobos will head out to square off against the Royals at 7:00 p.m.
On Friday, Littlerock came up short against Knight and fell 26-14.
Despite the loss, Littlerock got top-tier performance from Kenneth Olson, who rushed for 130 yards and two scores, and also picked up 41 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Quartz Hill had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Antelopes 41-7. The Royals' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Quartz Hill's win came from a few key players Littlerock will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brody Larey, who threw for 71 yards and three TDs on only six passes, and also rushed for 43 yards. His passing game has become a key predictor of Quartz Hill's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise. Tayveon Houston was another key back, rushing for 73 yards and one touchdown.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Quartz Hill proved: they limited Antelope Valley to a paltry 1.6 yards per carry. The Royals didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 11.3.
Quartz Hill didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Maximus Echanique, Brycen Herrera, Javontai Wisdom, and Noah Moton picked up one apiece.
Littlerock's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Quartz Hill, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Littlerock was taken down by Quartz Hill 53-6 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Lobos, Jaden Graham (who rushed for 57 yards and one score on only eight carries, and also caught one TD) won't be suiting up this time.
