The International Community Comets came into Tuesday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They enjoyed a cozy 62-43 victory over Circle Christian on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for International Community, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
International Community found their leader in underclassman Paxton Boaz, who scored 28 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Boaz has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Slade Woodruff, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Circle Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Noah Whisler, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals. Lucas Valdes was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five steals.
International Community's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-16. As for Circle Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. International Community will take on the Green Wave at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Circle Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st. Hopefully Legacy Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Friday.
