The biggest upset of the week belonged to Monte Vista, who took down 41st ranked Monte Vista, 24-21.
Amador Valley moved up to 113 from 150 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in East Bay. The Dons were able to make move up by defeating the Mustangs 24-21.
Cameron Owen threw for 225 yards and four touchdowns. He was 11-17 with one interceptions.
Kyle Campiotti was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 169 yards on 10 carries as Granada fell to California. Teammate Richards added to the ground attack by rushing for 40 yards.
Richards was the best wideout in the league this week as the Matadors fell to the Grizzlies. Richards tallied eight receptions for 158 yards. Casey Soltis helped Granada's passing attack out by catching one ball for 26 yards.
Monte Vista's Nikita Zamora and Jalen Avery have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading East Bay in both passing and receiving yards. Zamora has thrown for 1986 yards this season, while Avery, a 5-foot-6 receiver, has 40 catches for 738 yards. Karris Johnson from California leads the league in rushing with 1105 yards.
Going into this week's game against San Ramon Valley, Craig Bergman's team's Zamora needs 14 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Amador Valley takes on Foothill. At the moment, Rick Sira's team is in fourth, while the Falcons are in third.
The Dons and the Mustangs played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Dons eventually emerging with a 24-21 victory.
