The Phoenix Country Day Eagles can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 65-7 victory over Phoenix Christian. The win was familiar territory for Phoenix Country Day who now have four in a row.
Leading Phoenix Country Day to victory were Olivia Owens and Aila Kaibara. Owens dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Kaibara scored 28 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Owens is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Erin Patterson, who scored five points along with two steals.
Phoenix Country Day pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 40.77 points. As for Phoenix Christian, they have fallen quite a ways from their 17-8 record last season and are now at 4-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Phoenix Country Day will take on St. Johns at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Johns is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Phoenix Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Northland Prep Academy at 5:30 p.m. Northland Prep Academy's defense has only allowed 29.1 points per game this season, so Phoenix Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.
