Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Phoenix Military). They slipped by the Kelvyn Park Panthers 54-53 on Thursday. This was payback for the Firebirds, who suffered a 63-52 loss the last time these two teams met.

The victory made it two in a row for Phoenix Military and bumps their season record up to 2-2. As for Kelvyn Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Phoenix Military will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Chicago Tech at 5:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. After both having extra time off, Kelvyn Park and Chicago Collegiate will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 4:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
