The Lyons Lions will take on the Sodus Spartans at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Lyons is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.
Lyons is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 23-7 margin over Red Creek on Monday. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Rylee Richardson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025. Lydia Briggs was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one double.
Lyons hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.
Sodus came out on top against Clyde-Savannah on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run third inning. The Spartans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Golden Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Spartans have posted against the Golden Eagles since May 15, 2023.
Hayleigh Hall made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jenna Martinez and Jordyn Graham did most of the damage at the plate: Martinez got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs, while Graham went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Genevieve VanDerbroek, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.
Lyons' win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Sodus, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lyons has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .623. However, it's not like Sodus struggles in that department as they've averaged .446. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Lyons' way against Sodus when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Lyons made off with a 16-1 victory. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
