The Palestine Wildcats came tearing into Thursday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past Sulphur Springs with a 70-64 win. The final score was a far cry from the score of their previous head-to-head, which saw the teams combine for zero points.
It was another big night for K?Mari Gipson, who scored 22 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Palestine's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gerlle Abrams, who scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds.
Palestine's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Sulphur Springs, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Palestine is on the road again on Thursday and play against Longview at 5:00 p.m. on November 30th. Sulphur Springs won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Corsicana at 12:30 p.m. on December 1st.
