The Centennial Cougars came into Friday's contest having lost 13 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They secured a 46-41 W over Summit on Friday. This was payback for Centennial, who suffered a 54-49 loss the last time these two teams met.
Centennial's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bethany Wright, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Wright hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for three straight games. Addison Gorday was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Centennial's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-19. As for Summit, they dropped their record down to 8-13 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centennial will take on the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nolensville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Cougars in Tennessee (the Knights are ranked 106th, while the Cougars are ranked 313th). As for Summit, they will be playing at home against the Admirals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
