Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lawton). They put the hurt on the Black River Rats with a sharp 9-2 win on Saturday. The victory was familiar territory for the Blue Devils, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Lawton's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Black River, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Coincidentally, Lawton and Black River will both be playing Fennville the next time they take the field. The Blue Devils will host the Blackhawks at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Rats will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
