The Wilkinson County Christian Academy Rams will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Centreville Academy Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Wilkinson County Christian Academy will be strutting in after a win while Centreville Academy will be coming in after a loss.
Wilkinson County Christian Academy will bounce into Friday's match after beating Amite School Center, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. Wilkinson County Christian Academy walked away with an 8-3 victory over Amite School Center two weeks ago. The win was some much needed relief for the Rams as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Tucker Freeman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That hit was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Carter Graham was excellent, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Partridge, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Wilkinson County Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Centreville Academy's offense. They came up short against Adams County Christian on Tuesday, falling 13-0. The Tigers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Centreville Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayde Redmond, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.
Centreville Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Wilkinson County Christian Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Wilkinson County Christian Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Centreville Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 10-9. Will Wilkinson County Christian Academy repeat their success, or does Centreville Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
