Baseball Recap: Sickles Picks Up Seventh Straight Win on the Road

Sickles came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Jefferson Dragons with a sharp 12-2 win. Considering the Gryphons have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jordan Yost was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Sickles' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Ross, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.

Sickles kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jefferson only managed four hits.

Sickles pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Sickles didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-4 win against Steinbrenner on the 13th. As for Jefferson, they have also already played their next matchup, a 19-6 victory against Freedom on the 13th.
