Union has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Morgan Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Morgan took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Union, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Union earned a 47-36 victory over Ben Lomond. The win was just what Union needed coming off of a 74-30 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Morgan pushed their score all the way to 58 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grantsville. While losing is never fun, Morgan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Grantsville is ranked sixth).
The losing side was boosted by Keira Brewer, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eva Birkeland, who scored 12 points.
Even though they lost, Morgan were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Union's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-12. As for Morgan, they have fallen quite a ways from their 21-6 record last season and are now at 3-11.
Union took a serious blow against Morgan in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 67-23. Thankfully for Union, Elena Birkeland (who scored 20 points along with six steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
