While Okawville didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-25), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  2-1  win over the Trico Pioneers  on Monday.  The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Okawville who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 21-25,  26-24.
 Jaycie Buss paced Okawville's offense, picking up 11 kills. Buss got some help from  Kenley Hackstadt and her 29 assists.  Katelyn Williams controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
The  win made it two in a row for Okawville and  bumps their season record up to 9-5. As for Trico,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 10-5.
 Looking ahead, Okawville will face off against Steeleville at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Trico, they will take on Johnston City at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
