The Fairfield Falcons will head out to square off against the Northridge Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Northridge took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Fairfield, who comes in off a win.
Fairfield made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bremen, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Fairfield was the clear victor by a 14-4 margin over Bremen on Thursday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Madison Jones and Faith Berkey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Jones pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Berkey struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. At bat, Jones went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Berkey went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adelyn Holsopple, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kinslyn Pressler, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Fairfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They got seven more hits than Bremen's also-impressive total of 11.
Meanwhile, Northridge started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against South Bend Riley. They lost 17-5 to the Wildcats on Saturday. The loss put an end to the Raiders' undefeated start to the season.
Rachel Humbarger made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Humbarger is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Rielyn Goodwin was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
The victory got Fairfield back to even at 1-1. As for Northridge, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
Fairfield took their win against Northridge in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 11-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fairfield since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
