Serrano hasn't had much luck against Oak Hills recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Diamondbacks will face off against the Bulldogs at 3:15 p.m. Serrano has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Things were looking good for Serrano after they put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 15-5 to Sultana. The Diamondbacks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jamie Motley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Cody Ramirez, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oak Hills). They put the hurt on Burroughs with a sharp 14-8 victory on Tuesday. The Bulldogs not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 22nd.
CARSYN LEON tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits.
On the hitting side, Oak Hills let SIENNA GARCIA and KAYLA CAZAREZ run wild. GARCIA went 3-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and two RBI, while CAZAREZ scored three runs while going 5-for-4. The dominant performance also gave CAZAREZ a new career-high in RBI (three). ANAYA TULA was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
Oak Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
Oak Hills' record now sits at 5-8. As for Serrano, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Serrano hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .462. However, it's not like Oak Hills struggles in that department as they've averaged .354. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Serrano might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from Oak Hills in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Diamondbacks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
