Westside is 8-0 against Pickens since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Westside Rams will head out on the road to take on the Pickens Blue Flame at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Westside has five straight wins, Pickens has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Westside only won by three when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 24-point they dealt Greenwood on Tuesday. Westside blew past Greenwood 68-44.
Westside got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zeke Marshall out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kmajay Jenkins, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pickens took a serious blow against Greenville on Tuesday, falling 62-20. Pickens has not had much luck with Greenville recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Westside is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for Pickens, they dropped their record down to 4-19 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Westside against Pickens in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 93-30 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westside since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
