The Workman Lobos had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against Norwalk as Workman made off with a 69-45 victory. Workman might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three matchups by 24 points or more this season.
Workman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aaron Hernandez led the charge by dropping a triple-double on 20 points, 10 assists, and 12 steals. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Hernandez has scored at least 25% of Workman's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luis Saenz, who dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 steals.
Workman now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Norwalk, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Workman will square off against Claremont at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Claremont focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Saturday. Norwalk will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Glenn at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th.
