The Sebastopol Bobcats will challenge the Richland Rangers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sebastopol is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
Sebastopol proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 15) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Noxapater 8-7. While the Bobcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Colby Dooley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other pitching news, Noah Atkinson tossed a big game, pitching 5.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Harrison Peebles, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Connally Gaddis was another key player, scoring three runs.
Meanwhile, Richland fell victim to Lake and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 15-0 to the Hornets.
Sebastopol's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Richland, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Richland's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Sebastopol has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Richland, though, as they've been averaging only 3.9 strikeouts. Will Sebastopol keep running through batters, or will Richland buck the trend?
Sebastopol might still be hurting after the 12-1 loss they got from Richland in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Sebastopol avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
