The Linden Patriots couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. The contest between Linden and Southern Choctaw wasn't particularly close, with Linden falling 57-41. Linden has not had much luck with Southern Choctaw recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Malikk James, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Kareem Rembert, who scored 10 points.
Linden's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Southern Choctaw, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Linden will head out on the road to face off against Marion at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southern Choctaw, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Choctaw County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Choctaw County and Southern Choctaw are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
