The Glendale Prep Academy Griffins won the last time they faced the BASIS Phoenix Firebirds, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Glendale Prep Academy blew past the Firebirds, posting a 68-14 victory on the road. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to post 14 more assists than your opponent, as Glendale Prep Academy did.
Glendale Prep Academy found their leader in underclassman Talan Sprouse, who scored 14 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sprouse has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Som, who scored ten points.
BASIS Phoenix's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Edward Zhu, who scored four points, and Michael Hervey who scored two points along with five rebounds and two steals. Hervey is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.
Glendale Prep Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for BASIS Phoenix, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glendale Prep Academy will take on the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rancho Solano Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 781 points over their last 12 matchups. As for BASIS Phoenix, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Northland Prep Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 last Saturday.
