The Immaculate Mustangs will take on the Wheeler Lions on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Immaculate is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They beat Bridgeport International Academy by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 18-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.
Sophia Schnatz tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over 4.2 innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Karina Soni, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Norah Whitmore, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Immaculate always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Wheeler made sure to put some runs up on the board against Stafford on Monday. The Lions put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 10-1 victory.
Victoria Kleeman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Wheeler let Addie Stanley and Morgyn Perkins run wild. Stanley went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Perkins got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. Isabella Deledda was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
Wheeler has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Immaculate, their record is now 15-8.
Everything went Immaculate's way against Wheeler when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Immaculate made off with a 13-0 victory. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
