Eldorado barely beat Miles the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 24-9 win on Friday. The Eagles have beaten the Bulldogs the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.
Eldorado let Paige Kiddy and Allison Meador run wild. Kiddy scored four runs and stole nine bases while going 4-for-4, while Meador went 3-for-4 with six stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Those six stolen bases gave Meador a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emily Morin, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.
Eldorado always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .723. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miles only posted an OBP of .464.
Meanwhile, Colorado never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over Sonora. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.
Mia Obenhaus made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on KK Epperson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Alyssa Wooddell was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Eldorado's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Colorado, their win bumped their record up to 19-7-1.
