The Krum Bobcats had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against City View by a score of 45-38. Given Krum's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while City View is ranked 420th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why City View lost, one person who can't be blamed is Amani Mckinney. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points. Mckinney continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Kenedee Pennington was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 3 steals.
Krum's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for City View, they have fallen quite a ways from their 23-11 record last season and are now at 3-5.
Krum will face off against China Spring at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. China Spring is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for City View, they will square off against Burkburnett at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Burkburnett is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
