Jaxon Tweedt was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Tweedt wasn't the only one making solid contact: Chico kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Red Bluff only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, Shasta scored first but ultimately less than Enterprise in their contest on Friday. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 4-3. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jaydon Oliver was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits.
At the plate, Shasta saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ty Jones, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Chico pushed their record up to 13-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Shasta, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Chico hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .365. However, it's not like Shasta struggles in that department as they've averaged .329. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Chico came out on top in a nail-biter against Shasta in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-2. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
