Boone Grove and Kankakee Valley are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Wolves will face off against the Kougars at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boone Grove knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Kankakee Valley likes a good challenge.
Boone Grove is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Westville get on the board and left with an 18-0 win on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Jordyn Botma made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Those three runs gave Duerr a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Olivia Treece, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Boone Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .516. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in seven consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Kankakee Valley made easy work of Highland on Friday and carried off a 16-0 win. With that victory, the Kougars brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.
Like Boone Grove, Kankakee Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Mallorie Rose. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. With that strong performance, Rose is now averaging an impressive 5.4 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Patience Cole was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season. Aubrey Hanger was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.
Boone Grove is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Kankakee Valley, their record is now 9-4.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Boone Grove hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .394. However, it's not like Kankakee Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .352. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Boone Grove couldn't quite finish off Kankakee Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 and fell 8-6. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
