Basketball Game Preview: Indian Rocks Christian Eagles vs. Northside Christian Mustangs

Indian Rocks Christian and Northside Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Indian Rocks Christian Eagles will face off against the Northside Christian Mustangs on Thursday. Indian Rocks Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Last Friday, everything went Indian Rocks Christian's way against Osceola as Indian Rocks Christian made off with a 61-35 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Kayleigh Atkinson had an outrageously good game as she went 6 of 11 en route to 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds. What's more, she also racked up five steals, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Makayla Kennedy was another key player, putting up nine points.

Indian Rocks Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Northside Christian has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 47-40 to Clearwater Central Catholic on Friday. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Marauders 14-8 in the first quarter.

Indian Rocks Christian pushed their record up to 12-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30 points. As for Northside Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Indian Rocks Christian came up short against Northside Christian when the teams last played back in January, falling 44-35. Can Indian Rocks Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
