Football Recap: Berean Academy's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Berean Academy extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from JOHNNY TORRES. The Eagles breezed past the Paradise Valley Christian Prep Panthers to the tune of 34-6 on Saturday with plenty of help from TORRES, who rushed for 184 yards and three scores on only 13 carries, and also picked up 33 receiving yards and one touchdown. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending two passes.

One reason for the win was Berean Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: OMAR SPROTT and LEVITICUS SAMAU, who each picked up 0.5 sacks apiece.

Berean Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Paradise Valley Christian Prep, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coincidentally, Berean Academy and Paradise Valley Christian Prep will both be playing Southwest Leadership Academy the next time they take the field. The Eagles will head out to face the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on October 2.
