Davies Career & Tech is 1-9 against Cranston East since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Thunderbolts at 4:00 p.m. Davies Career & Tech is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
Davies Career & Tech is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Times Squared Academy an 18-0 shutout on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Darelyn Maldonado, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Madison Blanchette was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Davies Career & Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .786. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Cranston East faced Tiverton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Thunderbolts fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 6-5. That makes it the first time this season the Thunderbolts have let down their home crowd.
Like Davies Career & Tech, Cranston East also got a great game from a two-way player: Lexi Montalban. She struck out 11 batters over ten innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits. Montalban was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Nevaeh Fatorma made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
Cranston East's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Davies Career & Tech, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 5-2.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Davies Career & Tech has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .551. However, it's not like Cranston East struggles in that department as they've averaged .509. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Davies Career & Tech couldn't quite get it done against Cranston East in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 5-2. Will the Patriots have more luck at home instead of on the road?
