Even though the Cherokee Braves scored an imposing 67 points on Thursday, the Franklin Panthers still came out on top. Franklin took their match against Cherokee 77-67. The win made it back-to-back wins for Franklin.
Franklin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braylen Dezarn, who scored 25 points. Another player making a difference was Noah Brannon, who scored 24 points along with 5 rebounds.
Franklin's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Cherokee, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Franklin will head out on the road to face off against Swain County at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cherokee, they will square off against Choctaw Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
