The Rouse Raiders entered their tilt with the Cedar Park Timberwolves with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. Rouse walked away with a 65-53 win over Cedar Park on Tuesday. Given Rouse's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Cedar Park is ranked 256th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rouse's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jojo Moore led the charge by almost dropping a triple-double on 25 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists. Moore hasn't dropped below 19 points for five straight games. Amarie Haywood was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds.
Despite the loss, Cedar Park still got an impressive performance from Reid Vines, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Kalen Williamson, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Rouse is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 25-7 record this season. As for Cedar Park, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rouse will square off against Leander at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Leander is on a three-game streak of home wins, Rouse a seven-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Cedar Park, they will head out on the road to challenge Liberty Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Cedar Park focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
