After flying high against the Calvary Academy Lions on Saturday, the International Leadership of Texas Keller Eagles came back down to earth. The contest between International Leadership of Texas Keller and Covenant wasn't particularly close, with International Leadership of Texas Keller falling 65-47. International Leadership of Texas Keller was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Covenant apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Covenant's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dobson Beaird, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Shahan, who scored 16 points.
International Leadership of Texas Keller's loss dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Covenant, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
After both having extra time off, International Leadership of Texas Keller and Uplift Ascend Prep will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Uplift Ascend Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1020th, while International Leadership of Texas Keller is ranked 505th). Covenant will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lucas Christian Academy at 11:00 a.m. on December 27th.
