Fairbanks is a perfect 9-0 against Catholic Central since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Panthers will host the Irish at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Fairbanks headed into their last contest having not scored more than two runs for four straight, but Greenon let them put that streak behind them. The Panthers walked away with a 10-5 win over the Knights on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Carson Reames was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Fairbanks is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-13 otherwise. Reames was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Fairbanks always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Catholic Central hadn't done well against Northeastern recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Irish had just enough and edged out the Jets 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Irish have posted since April 8th.
Berkeley Little and Ben Thomas did most of the damage at the plate: Little went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Thomas went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.
The victory made it two in a row for Catholic Central and bumps their season record up to 5-13. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Fairbanks, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.
Fairbanks took their win against Catholic Central in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-1 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Irish turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
