Fans got a thrill when Ricky Pompa and Andrew shippelhoute connected against Williams. The longest such play in Mid-Valley this season, the connection resulted in 80 yards.
East Nicolaus moved up to 892 from 941 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Spartans were able to move up by besting Quincy 38-15.
Shippelhoute was the best receiver in the league this week as Hamilton bested the Yellowjackets. Shippelhoute tallied 3 receptions for 106 yards. Theron Fumasi helped Hamilton's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 24 yards.
The Braves' Pompa and Austin Burbank led Mid-Valley in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Pompa has thrown for 598 yards this season, while Burbank has 13 catches for 294 yards. Colusa's Estavan Frias leads the league in rushing yards with 606.
The RedHawks are currently in second, while the Trojans are in fifth.
Esparto fell to Colusa 43-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
