Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cardinal Newman). They were the clear victors by a 19-1 margin over the Williamsburg Wildcats on Wednesday. Blake Anderson was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Joe Walsh was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Austin Febles was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Cardinal Newman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .641. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
