Owyhee has gone a perfect 7-0 against Capital recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Storm will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Owyhee is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.
On Thursday, Owyhee earned a 6-2 victory over Borah.
Nathan Keith was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other pitching news, Aiden Peterson looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two).
Back at the plate, Shelby Pease and Zander Jakovac did most of the damage at the plate: Pease went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Jakovac went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Owyhee hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 14 consecutive matchups.
Capital came out on top against Mountain View on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Eagles walked away with a 6-2 win over the Mavericks. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Capital saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Cloninger, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
Owyhee's record is now 14-4. As for Capital, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Owyhee has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Capital struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Owyhee came out on top in a nail-biter against Capital in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Storm since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
