The Liberty Union Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They breezed by Whetstone on the road to the tune of 54-23. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Liberty Union has managed all season.
Liberty Union found their leader in underclassman Macey Smith, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Love, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Liberty Union's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10. As for Whetstone, they bumped their record down to 1-11 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty Union's road trip will continue as they head out to face Westfall at 7:15 p.m. on January 18th. As for Whetstone, they will take on Linden-McKinley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Linden-McKinley is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
