In what's become a running theme this season, the La Salette Academy Lions gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 70-45 margin over Donovan. With La Salette Academy ahead 36-16 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Eamon Martin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 33 points along with six rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Charles Prather, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Donovan's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braden Klecan, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Klecan has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ty Miller, who scored seven points along with eight steals.
La Salette Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Donovan, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Salette Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Westville at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th. As for Donovan, they will head out on the road to face off against Milford at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
