Adalynn Holsomback spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Trinity Burdett, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Whitfield, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Ridge Spring-Monetta hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Barnwell was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They came up short against South Aiken, falling 8-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Warhorses have suffered since May 9, 2025.
Barnwell saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brianna Croft, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Barnwell's defeat dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, their record is now 14-5.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Ridge Spring-Monetta hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .354. However, it's not like Barnwell struggles in that department as they've averaged .424. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
