South Cobb pushed their score all the way to 68 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Pius X Catholic. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for South Cobb in their matchups with St. Pius X Catholic: they've now lost five in a row.
South Cobb's loss came about despite a quality game from Rajah Morgan, who scored 33 points along with seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Morgan has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Aj Horton, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Even though Dunwoody has not done well against North Atlanta recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Dunwoody walked away with a 58-51 victory over North Atlanta.
South Cobb's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-13. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points per game. As for Dunwoody, their win bumped their record up to 8-14.
South Cobb came up short against Dunwoody when the teams last played back in January, falling 67-57. Can South Cobb avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
